What is the Teach More/Love More hotline?

The Teach More/Love More hotline is an early childhood clearinghouse that provides a wide range of services. Started in September 2001 the program includes a trilingual (English, Spanish, Creole) hotline available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, case management and advocacy services, and mailed materials. The Teach More/Love More Hotline targets parents and/or guardians of children ages five and under, caregivers and others. The program provides information on early care and education, health and safety, parenting as well as children with special needs and other early childhood issues. The program also maintains a comprehensive database of Early Childhood and parenting support programs available in Miami-Dade County and can be reached by calling 211.

 

The Teach More/Love More hotline is a partnership between The Early Childhood Initiative Foundation and Switchboard of Miami.

Teach More/Love More hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What does the Teach More/Love More hotline do?

* Teach More/Love More hotline counselors provide information on child raising from before birth to age 5.

* The Teach More/Love More hotline helps in the distribution of the newsletter and the Children's Almanac.

* The Teach More/Love More hotline provides follow-up and case management services to ensure access to products and services.

* The Teach More/Love More hotline maintains a comprehensive database of services and programs in Miami-Dade County including health services, early child care and education, parent support services, counseling and developmental services.

* The Teach More/Love More hotline provides volunteer opportunities for those interested in being phone counselors.

What type of calls does The Teach More/Love More hotline receive?

The Teach More/Love More hotline is available 24 hours and day, 7 days a week. Calls are answered in English, Spanish and Creole. Questions might range from a parent having difficulty with a child's potty training... to a caregiver needing a safe and educational child care center that fits a particular schedule... to a new mom wondering about the benefits of breast feeding... to a dad wanting to learn how to discipline effectively... to a parent who is concerned about a child's development.
